Q: What is ResearcherID? How do I promote my publication profile for expanding collaboration opportunities?

Example: After publishing research findings, user can create a free ResearcherID account easily via Web of Knowledge platform and start promoting their publications to expand citation networks and explore new collaboration opportunities. Here are the steps to follow:

Step 1
Please go to Web of Knowledge platform (http://isiknowledge.com), and select “My ResearcherID

Step 2
Please sign in Web of Knowledge platform using registered Email Address and Password (For first time user, please register with Web of Knowledge platform to get a free ResearcherID account)

Step 3
Complete the registration process by providing all required information (first time user only).

Step 4
To add publications into your ReseacherID account, go to “My Publications” and click on “Add”

Step 5
Start adding your publications from Web of Science or bibliography software

Share your unique ResearcherID with peers and understand your citation performance for new networking possibilities and collaboration opportunities

Participate in EBSCOhost database Online Training Session



Dear Librarian and Information Professional,


We at EBSCO Publishing are very much aware of the requirement to keep up-to-date with resources available in your library and ensure your patrons take full advantage of the database content. To assist with this, we are offering a series of Online Training Sessions scheduled for 9th, 13th, and 15th December – registration details follow below.

Nicola Giles, our Implementation Specialist, will be hosting the sessions which will run for an hour each. Two sessions will be on the EBSCOhost Platform (with the second session being a repeat of the first); and one session on marketing/promoting your Library databases.

EBSCOhost training will cover platform features and functionality – and include information on recent enhancements that were made to EBSCOhost.

In addition, you will have the chance to see what new features we are hoping to make available soon!

The ‘Best Practice’ marketing session provides hints and tips on how to promote your library’s electronic resources so that you optimise your return on investment!

All training sessions will provide the opportunity for you to provide feedback and suggestions.

MS Online System aims to assist users in getting Malaysian Standards information quickly via the Internet. Any PC that wish to download the PDF must install InfoGet patch (once).

Nurul Diana Jasni & Pembantu Perpustakaan - Cik Reza Edwana telah melawat staf JPJPD yang ditimpa kemalangan iaitu En. Mohd Hazri Abd. Karim di rumah beliau yg terletak di Kg. Raja Uda, Pelabuhan Klang. Kedatangan kami telah disambut mesra oleh keluarga beliau. Beliau dijangka menjalani pemeriksaan susulan di Hospital Tengku Ampuan Rahimah (HTAR) pada 30 Julai serta diberikan cuti rehat selama satu bulan bagi menyembuhkan bahu beliau yang patah. Sama-samalah kita mendoakan agar kesihatan beliau beransur pulih wink

Kursus Kemahiran Penggunaan Pangkalan Data Elektronik Perpustakaan UiTM 2010

arrow Alhamdulillah Kursus ini telah selamat di anjurkan dengan jayanya. Penganjuran kursus ini adalah untuk memberi peluang dan ruang kepada para Pustakawan Shah Alam & Cawangan (terpilih sahaja) bagi mempelajari lebih mendalam tentang fungsi, peranan dan penggunaan beberapa pangkalan data terpilih. Selain itu, mereka juga dapat bertemu secara langsung dengan para pembekal Pangkalan data.

arrow Kaedah kursus yang dijalankan adalah secara teori dan praktikal. Beberapa pangkalan data telah dipilih bagi mengisi program kursus iaitu pangkalan data Scopus, ISI Web of Knowledge, Datastream. LexisNexis Academic Universe dan IGI ebooks. Penceramah terdiri dari pembekal produk seperti Elsevier, Thomson Reuters dan Access Dunia. Turut diberi peluang menyampaikan ceramah kursus adalah pustakawan PTAR iaitu Pn. Hani Liza Norfin, Cik Syaakirah & Cik Nik Amanina. Sasaran peserta kursus adalah kepada Serials & reference Librarian.

arrow Berikut adalah Objektif penganjuran kursus :

1. Memberi latihan secara teori dan praktikal kepada Pustakawan UiTM supaya mereka dapat membimbing pengguna mencari maklumat dengan cara yang lebih berkesan.
2. Mempelajari bagaimana pangkalan data elektronik dapat membantu pelanggan perpustakaan dalam pembelajaran, pengajaran dan penyelidikan mereka.
3. Memahami kaedah dan strategi pencarian maklumat yang cekap dan berkesan.
4. Berupaya mengenalpasti dan mengakses maklumat daripada pelbagai sumber elektronik.
5. Membina keyakinan diri dalam membimbing pelanggan supaya mampu menggunakan bahan dan perkhidmatan Perpustakaan dengan cekap, berkesan dan berdikari .
